Why meditate?

3 Good Reasons…

  1. Meditation reverses the effects of stress.  (see study below 'reverse' the molecular reactions in our DNA)

  2. Meditation creates headspace to quieten internal negative spin freeing you to concentrate more easily and think more creatively.

  3. Meditation boosts your inherent kindness. Naturally you become more interactive and less reactive - this improves your wellbeing and ripples into all your relationships.

What's stopping you?

Finding the time

'It will be more effective if I learn when I've got more time' - this is an understandable, but you don't have to be in a particular frame of mind to learn to meditate.  When you meditate regularly you reverse the effects of stress & fatigue.  A by product of this is increased clarity, energy & efficiency.

Still your mind

Another roadblock is, 'my mind never stops, I've tried and just can't do it'.  There are loads of great apps and recordings, but learning in a structured, step-by-step process with personal guidance eliminates any doubt about meditating correctly. Before you know it, you gain confidence and become a skilled meditator.

The research....

Meditation has much to offer, the benefits are well known and increasing backed by scientific evidence.

A study published by Coventry University found:

Meditation and yoga can 'reverse' DNA reactions which cause stress.

The findings in summary:

Mind-body interventions (MBIs) such as meditation, yoga and Tai Chi don't simply relax us; they can 'reverse' the molecular reactions in our DNA which cause ill-health and depression, according to study.

"These activities are leaving what we call a molecular signature in our cells, which reverses the effect that stress or anxiety would have on the body by changing how our genes are expressed. Put simply, MBIs cause the brain to steer our DNA processes along a path which improves our wellbeing.
